MobilBid Enterprise Resources FAQs

For national and multi-chapter organizations

One account for several chapters

In short. If your organization has chapters, branches or local committees that each run a silent auction, MobilBid can put them all under one account. Each chapter has its own organization and auctions. Account administrators see every organization's auctions and totals in one place. Each auction is priced like any other: 5.5% of silent auction sales and 1.5% of donations and live auction items, with a $220 minimum and a $2,500 maximum per event.

Who it's for

National charities with local chapters, foundations with regional events, school boards and associations with member groups, and any organization whose auctions happen in more than one place. Hockey Helps the Homeless, for example, runs 17 auctions a year in seven provinces on MobilBid, with local committees choosing their own items.

“Overall, the MobilBid platform has helped us make our silent auctions more efficient and gives us the ability to share them with larger audiences. It also plays an important role as part of our archiving, for any pertinent auditing purposes.”

How it works

  • One account, several organizations. Each chapter or branch is its own organization under your account, with its own auctions.
  • One view of everything. Account administrators see every organization's auctions and totals, without asking each chapter for a report.
  • Every feature for every chapter. Maximum bids, outbid alerts by text and email, live and multi-winner items, donations, French for bidders and the big-screen leaderboard, with unlimited items, bidders and administrators.
  • Start each auction from a past one. A new auction can start from an old one, with its items and settings, so a proven auction can be reused instead of rebuilt.

Two ways to organize the work

A central team sets up the auctions. A small, experienced team at head office builds each chapter's auction and schedules its opening and closing times and messages. Chapters that hold an auction once a year don't have to learn the setup from scratch each time.

Chapters run their own. Local volunteers set up their own auctions with the same tools, training and support, while head office keeps one view of every auction and its totals.

Many organizations mix the two. Either way, once an auction is set up with its items, messages and closing time, it runs on its own: bidding opens and closes on time, and outbid alerts and scheduled messages go out without anyone sending them.

In person, online or both

Each chapter can run its auction in the room, online, or both at once. Supporters who can't attend can still bid from home, which widens the audience for every local event.

Results for every chapter

Each auction's post-event reports show bidding by item and by bidder, winners and invoices, and participants' contact information. Keeping every chapter's results in one account gives head office one record of every event, for planning next year and for auditing.
